You need not create/update an SPView. The following will suffice:

using Microsoft.SharePoint;

using Microsoft.SharePoint.WebControls;

. . .

SPWeb web = SPContext.Current.Web;

ListViewByQuery listView = new ListViewByQuery();

listView.List = web.Lists["List Name"];

SPQuery query = new SPQuery(listView.List.DefaultView);

query.Query = "<Where></Where>";

this.Controls.Add(listView);

I'm not sure, you want to join more than one list and export to excel?

it woukd be a cool feature, but using CAML is not possbile to make join like sql :(

It is a really big problem in Sharepoint.

The cool thing would be if you could pass CAML and generate an excel file for a roll up of many sharepoint lists!

Rendering is not complex, it is more interesting the method for builing the CAML using javascript..
