SharePoint Manager 2007 Update

I have been working on the SPM2007 for some time now, adding new SP nodes, rewriting a lot of the code and fixing bugs.  One of the cool features is that you are able to change the values of the object properties directly in the Manager. You can change the Title and other values without having to use the browser or writing your own code.  The Manager only uses the SharePoint object model and do not touch the database directly in any way.

Download

The Manager starts out showing a simple version of the SP object model. But you can easily see the full object model by selecting:  View – Object Model - >  Full

The selection of Full view will result in a full view of all objects.

Prerequisites:
Microsoft Server 2003
Microsoft  .NET Framework 2.0
Microsoft SharePoint Services 3.0

Install:
1. Download the ZIP file and unpack on a SharePoint 2007 Server.*
2. Run the SharePoint Manager 2007.exe program.

(*) This program has to run on a server where Microsoft SharePoint Services 3.0 or Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 is installed.

Release - Features

Ver: 0.31.7.0127

·         Workflow nodes added.

·         View nodes added.

·         CAML View of views added.

·         View menu added. Minimal, Medium and Full view of the object model.

·         New nodes types added.

·         Major bug fix on features handling. Now works properly.

·         Bug fixed: Program not caching icons.

·         Bug fix of SPWebApplication.

·         Other bug fixes.

Excellent tool, nice work.

I found one thing missing in the collection/enumeration browse, specifically for FieldLinks collection under a content type.

You got a browser/form that will show me all the properties of the collection, it's great.

But what about the properties of the collection object itself?? Some of these collection objects define a number of interesting properties of their own (not all are simple containers).

I think I need to write some code myself to view the properties of one of these fieldlinks collections. :-(

Great tool from what I've seen so far. Can you possibly add in an option to export a document from the database?

Once you've (by accident ofcourse) changed the name of the title column, there seems to be no way

Has anyone tried running SharepointManager on a Sharepoint farm rather than single server? After much trial and error and seeing what was logged in the windows event log, I arrived at the following requirements for my user accont in order to run successfully: System administrator. Site collection Administrator for the SP Admin site. SQL db_owner rignts for both the WSS_Content and Sharepoint_Config databases.

K2 blackpearl与MOSS做了深度的集成,所以很多来自客户的问题和我们的support都与MOSS相关。这其中最大的问题是我们如何去调试SharePoint(WSS、MOSS和Form Server),例如,当使用Form

Hi,

great tool!

If I click on "Site Features", I get an error "Failed to find the XML file at location...".

Perhaps you could put another try/catch around reading each features, so that the remaining features will be shown?

René

When I try to save a change I get "Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation."  Any ideas what might be causing this?

Excellent utility!   Thank you VERY much for writing this.   It has helped me isolate GUID numbers without spending all day in PowerShell or Visual Studio coding something from scratch.

I second the question on what to do for an error when trying to save a change. Tried to change Title back to Title.  "Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation."   There seem to be some fields that can be changed, but I can't change Content Types.  Someone please help.
