  • Jason Medero, MCP, MCT, MCTS, MVP (WSS) is a systems architect with a concentration in Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) and its related Microsoft technologies. He is a managing partner of B&R Business Solutions, a central New Jersey-based firm specializing in SharePoint and surrounding technologies, infrastructure, real-time communications (OCS), and application development. He is an active member of the SharePoint User Group in New York City where he sits on the speaker selection committee. He also contributes his SharePoint knowledge as a mentor for some of the popular forums (MSD2D, MSDN).

The speaker for our October meeting will be Bill English (MCSE, MCSA, MVP, MCT). His presentation is titled: "Findability & Taxonomies,: Notes from the Field".

 

In this presentation, Bill will cover the latest research on Findability & discuss why it is much more than a set of applications or technologies. Bill will outline the inherent problems with keyword queries & offer suggestions on how the SharePoint platform can be improved to be a foundational technology in an overall Findability solution. This session will challenge assumptions about search technologies & is appropriate for technologists as well as project managers, information architects & CIOs.

 

An author & educator specializing in SharePoint products & technologies, Bill English is an industry leader on this exciting product set form Microsoft. Since 2000, Bill has authored 11 books on Exchange & SharePoint products & is currently working on another book with Microsoft Press. Bill is the co-owner of Mindsharp (www.mindsharp.com), a company that offers top-notch educational opportunities on the SharePoint platform. He has presented at Comdex, The Microsoft Exchange Conference, TechMentor, TechEd, Advisor Live, TechEd Europe & Networld Interop. You can find his blog at his AdminCompanion book site. Bill lives in Minnesota with his wife & two children where he enjoys boating, photography & summer.

Unfortunately we lack the equipment to record our presentations.  We will make available the decks from the NYCSPUG website though.
