  • Speaking at New Jersey SharePoint User Group...MOSS 2007 Disaster and Recovery

I have some very awesome news!  My home state New Jersey is in the process of starting its own SharePoint User Group which will meet out of the Microsoft office in Iselin, NJ.  This location is great because there is a major train station called the Metro Park which I imagine has a ton of IT folks coming from NYC who would eat the technical information that come from these meetings right up!  So if you are one of those folks getting off the train at the Metro Park in Iselin New Jersey walk over to the Prudential building and at least enjoy some free pizza and some good conversation!

In the meeting this month I will be talking about MOSS 2007 backup/recovery and DR type scenarios.  I will be performing some Demos and will also be working with STSADM to demonstrate the power of this tool.  So come by next Wednesday with your best questions and well hopefully I will be able to answer them!

  • MOSS 2007, Outlook 2007, and InfoPath End User Training Guides available!

I was browsing through my usual suspects (blogs, newsgroups, RSS feeds etc..) when I came across the MS SharePoint blog.  I found some guides that the internal IT team at MS has put together for their end users.  I have gone through a few of these and they are some good stuff for end users who are new to the SharePoint environment.  It gives a nice break down of for example using a team site for collaboration and adding content, users, etc..  Below is a screen shot from the Using a Team Site for collaboration guide.

    End User Guide Sample Shot

Here are links to a couple that Microsoft has on their blog:

  • Collaboration Selection Guide

  • Collaborating with SharePoint Server 2007 Overview

  • SharePoint Server 2007 Sites and Workspaces Selection Guide

  • SharePoint Server 2007 Document Collaboration Get Started

  • SharePoint Server 2007 Team Sites Get Started
