  • MOSS 2007/WSS V3 Capacity planning articles have been released go check them out!

Joel Oleson has just released a bunch of links to the freshly released capacity planning articles for MOSS 2007/WSS V3.  These collection of articles are definitely going to fill a nice gap that will help us IT Pros to plan for MOSS 2007/WSS V3 implementations.

    From Joel's Blog Post:

" Within these docs you'll find data on servers, server topologies, system sizing, figuring out requests per second, understanding performance characteristics and guidance around features, such as folders vs. no folders.

Please use the mechanism to provide feedback.  The perf team needs to know if this meets your needs.  I as well and interested in what your looking for beyond what these papers provide"

This is definitely on the top of my MUST read through carefully list!  Definite kudos to the SharePoint team for providing the community with some great resources in a timely manner this time around :)

    Cheers!

  • MOSS 2007/WSS V3 official release date Novemeber 30!!

I have just found out from a reliable source that Microsoft has announced an officila release date that will include products:  Office 2007 system, Vista (yahooo!), and Exchange 2007!!  Please not that Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 (gosh thats a lot of typing!)and Windows SharePoint Services V3 will be included as a part of this HUGE release of products.

This initial release will only be available to enterprise customers with the general consumer release to be available in the January 2007 time frame.  I don't know about anyone else but I am super excited to see the final polished product!  I am in dire need of a rebuild on my laptop but had decided to not rebuild until the release of Vista because of the pure PITA it is to rebuild ( I really should invest in a imaging product I know :D).

I don't know about you guys but Nov.30 seems like its going to be an early Christmas present for all the geeks in the world :)

Here is an article that talks about the upcoming release:  http://www.itwire.com.au/content/view/6820/52

    Cheers!
