In the mean time I found on this post a script to get the element that we want to populate: blogs.msdn.com/.../using-javascript-to-manipulate-a-list-form-field.aspx

You will not find it in SharePoint Designer, as it is internal to the webpart. Look for the INPUT tag with the correct "Title", and grab the "id" value from that tag.

In the Security tab of the folder's Properties:

Click Advanced

Click the Owner tab

Ensure the current owner says Administrators, if not, click it in the "Change owner to" box

Check the checkbox that says "Replace owner on subcontainers and objects"

Hit Apply

Click the Permissions tab

Add the Everyone group (if you haven't already) by using the Add button, type Everyone, and click OK

Highlight the Everyone group and click Edit

Ensure "Allow" is checked for all the boxes and click OK

Check the box that says "Replace permission entries on all child objects with entries shown here that apply to child objects"

Click Apply, then Yes on the warning to continue

Click OK

Then click Apply & OK on the MachineKeys Properties window.

This all did the trick for me. :-)

The restrictions for "Connect to Outlook" (to my knowledge) are you must be using a supported list type (Doc Lib, Tasks, Calendar, Contacts), you must be using IE (v.6-8), and you must have the MS SharePoint Services Support Components loaded in your Office install. SharePoint Services Support Components are a part of the Office Suite, and are installed by default (look under Office Tools in your setup).

It does not have the 'connect to outlook' option under 'actions'. I got the template from the microsoft 40 template download. The template is 'change request management'. If I install a 'tasks' list the in the source I found the component:

<ie:menuitem id="zz18_OfflineButton" type="option" iconSrc="/_layouts/images/MenuPIM.gif" iconScript="BLOCKED SCRIPTofflineBtnImg" onMenuClick="BLOCKED SCRIPTExportHailStorm('tasks','http://essix/lpi/eplan','{5fd2a1eb-50a2-412d-884a-087da812bf60}','EPlan','Tasks','/lpi/eplan/Lists/Tasks','','/lpi/eplan/Lists/Tasks');" hidden="!offlineBtnText" textScript="BLOCKED SCRIPTofflineBtnText" description="Synchronize items and make them available offline." menuGroupId="400"></ie:menuitem>

In the site template, in the tasks section, this line does not appear. I am assuming this is why i don't get the 'connect to outlook option'. Now I am stuck.

I should have actually deleted it from the script. It is unnecessary, as it is the JOIN criteria for the "User" table in the lines above, so is already in effect.

As to Site Collections missing... Hmmm... Do you house your Content DB's on more than one server? If so, you ust make a linked server object (with credentials) for that server prior to executing this script, or the server will not be connected to.

Thank you for the script! I tried and it works

1) However - I am puzzed why some site collection are missing. For example /sites/ADS_xxx, /sites/DBS*

2) Why did you omitted this line

"AND [User].[tp_SiteID] = [Sites].[Id]" ?

[ConfigObjects].[Id]

      WHERE

            [Webs].[ParentWebId] IS NULL

            --AND [User].[tp_SiteID] = [Sites].[Id]

            AND [User].[tp_SiteAdmin] = 1

            AND [User].[tp_id] = 1'

      EXEC (@DBv1)

When I get a chance I'll throw a few in and see how they record in the crawl history...
