The VHD specification is supposed to be compatible between Hyper-V and Virtual Server/Virtual PC but the extensions are not, so trying ot move a virtual environment between Hyper-V and Virtual PC simply doesn't work. I setup the exact development environment you describe above, but I need to be able to move my VM's to my laptop (for demos, client onsite engagements, etc). Why doesn't Hyper-V support the older extensions for backward compaability? Why is Hyper-V only on x64? I ended up going back to Virtual PC, and won't be using Hyper-V until it is supported on a desktop OS.</p>
