Parameters are ok - I just added an empty js function with no params before my first 'real' function that has params, and the JS error goes away. So -

_spBodyOnLoadFunctionNames.push("empty");

<!-- Hiding JavaScript

function empty()

{

//push this first

}

function FunctionWithParams(param)

//do stuff

}

I am having some probelm whicle storing data in view state from my webpart code. After saving some data in the viewstate , in next postback when i am going to retrieve that,its coming null. Can u help me out?

Hi Everybody,

Another problem. I have two DFWP on a page with custom XSL. These two webparts are connected using SPD. The one webpart displays Master list and the other displays Child list. In master the key Column is string and in the child I have created a lookup coumn to refer this master column.

Now the issus is, when the master column contains an apostrophe (ie. Jack's Car), the webpart connection is gettig lost, the child webpart unable to display the related list items. Without this special character it is working fine.

Is this a bug in DFWP? Is there any method to solve this issue?

Please help me.

This issue seems to be related to the SP1 install. Make sure to add the local WSS_ADMIN_WPG and WSS_WPG security groups and give them Local Activation and Local Access.

I believe I figured out a solution of the original poster here, that was clicking the Subject in a Discussion list results in a "folder" subject view instead of the threaded or flat view, which is the desired default behavior.

What I determined is that when you mess with Discussion views (create new or edit existing, either from SP itself or SPD 2007), SharePoint is making changes in the SETTINGS - Discussion Board Settings - VIEWS - SHOW IN - column for views that it should not be.

When clicking the SUBJECT links in the discussion list, the SUBJECT VIEW - Show In - needs be set to "TOP-Level". If it is not, you will get the weird folder type view instead of the flat or threaded type view.

I made changes to views, but NEVER touched the default SUBJECT view.

To fix, click the SUBJECT view to edit the view, go to FOLDERS at the bottom, expand it and select "IN THE TOP-LEVEL FOLDER", click OK.

This fixes the bad behavior.

When editing views, SharePoint is messing with the show-in's and the default view behavior changes without the user knowing it!

Someone needs to report this to MS.

I used this discussion board too, and allthe bugs happend to me.

Now i need to configure alternated views using two discusion board webparts, one with discussion view and other using the message view. My problem is: when i try to connect both webparts don't have anyfield into the message view to connect with the discussion view. I try making other views but no one solve my problem.

Any suggestion?

Hi,

I have a problem, and would appreciate help to solve this;

I have created a custom masterpage in sharepoint 2007. This page contains a customcontrol - a new menu on the left side, instead of the quick launch.

My problem is that I have javascript that expands / collapses the menu. This works fine when i execute it with "view in browser" (in VS2005, and a test html page.).

My problem is when I want to use the function via the masterpage.

How and where do I add a reference to the custom.js file in the masterpage?

The custom.js functions also contains "plus.gif" and "minus.gif" images (- expand / collapse).

And how (and where) do I call the function initiate(); in the custom.js from the masterpage??

I really need help with this.

I am experiencing problems with paging when using webpart conncetion between 2 dataviews using sharepoint designer. After connection the 2 views the paging does not work properly. Does anyone have a solution for this problem. I am using sharepoint designer.

I am experiencing the same issue with pages that have connections. Everytime I edit the page, a new proxy is added during the save process. As you might imagine, this is a real pain in the neck for pages that have many connections.

Also, recently dowloaded and installed office 2007 sp1 and was hoping/praying this would be fixed. Yeah right.

Can someone from MS add something to this discussion. At this point, I'll take some sort of hack work around.

I just finished a SharePoint Designer course. THe only problem ended up being that the course used 3.0 and we have SS2.0 in our package, so the 'Insert fields as Single Item form' is not there, as well as create/view in our SharePoint Designer. So I am finding it completely impossible to create simple data entry forms in sequence to populate some list tables. (The stupid default ones wont work because they either have a weird toolbar that takes you back to the list (which I don't want the simple user to have access to, OR, if you shut the toolbar off, you get NO way of submitting the form! I mean, is it just me??

So I would just use Dreamweaver to create the form code, but there is no way in Dreamweaver to create a record set off from a SharePoint list because the products don't get along.

So basically, 0 productivity....
