Hi IMD,

Yes you are right, these area will be unprotected by AV. But you need to exclude the above directories, otherwise your Operating System Anti Virus will start blocking SharePoints calls. SharePoint AV like forefront will only scan files that are being pushed back into the SharePoint database, not at the Operating System level.

Most people setup Cental Admin on the Application Server [Index Server] and just have the Web Front Ends [WFE] to deal with the requests from a user perspective. But in reality it does not matter, which server Central Admin runs from, bearing in mind that Central Admin will put a slight load on IIS if being used heavily. This is proberbly the reason why most customer place this on the index server, rather then the WFE.

The left upper corner map only issue seems to be resolved in IE with the following mod:

var map = new GMap2(document.getElementById("map"), {size:new GSize(400,300)});

Continues to work in Firefox and Safari also

Since you recommend excluding all of the above mentioned directiories, wouldn't they be unprotected. If an environment has a SharePont add-in antivirus like Forefront, would you still need antivirus for the Windows servers?

Hi Bobby,

I'm very new to programming in sharepoint .we r now using SPS 2003,C#.net 2003 as per client requirement. and i have to develop the web parts.In order to develop i have to access the information present in the list and display it in the Datagrid. I'm facing prblems while dragging the webpart onto the webpart page.the info is not displayed ..but when i used with "context.response.write(tasks.items["Title"]);" its displaying.

My another requiremnt is to fetch the images based on one of the field of the Picture Library 's folder and display that image on the image webpart.

Could you please help me in this regard....i'm really lost

It wud really of great help...
