Different sources has different information and I need to bring them all together in to MOSS profile. Will creating different import connections work? There are some properties exist on all systems such as firstname, email etc. How does import handles them?

Thank you for the info you have provided on User Profile. Do you know in which database and table are the user profile info stored? After a user profile is imported from AD to sharepoint I want the Users to keep their info upto date and update that info into AD every night. Can you please tell me where I can get that info in sharepoint database?

Go to central administration and then to Application Management and then click Create or configure this farm's shared services . There you can create Shared Services. You need to create it before getting in to it. Also it need not be in localhost:20742. As it takes the port by itself.
