Hi Parth,

My apologies; I hadn't been checking this blog regularly enough.

I'm not clear on what it is that you want/need. If you want to deploy your own content type, have a look at this article: msdn.microsoft.com/.../ms479975.aspx

For an intro into content types, look here: msdn.microsoft.com/.../ms472236.aspx

Hi,

I am using SP to insert data into my lists,

data is getting inserted into table but my contentTypeId is looking something like this : 0x30

instead i need to have contentId like this :0x0100CDE4DE40DBF3384982BA6B1931224264

i dont know how to achieve this...!?

This is a follow up to the message from Chris (Csam0003); he figured it out, and I wanted to post here for everyone to reference:

Thanks for your promt replies...I found the problem...You can not use context in an Event Handler.

So here would be my code:

public override void ItemAdded(SPItemEventProperties properties)

{

base.ItemAdded(properties);

this.DisableEventFiring();

using (SPSite site = new SPSite(properties.weburl.ToString())

{

SPWeb subsite = site.OpenWeb();

SPWebCollection subSites = subsite.Webs;

SPWeb newSubWeb = subSites.Add("SPKINGS");

newSubWeb.Update();

}

this.EnableEventFiring();

}

Eveything works fine...

HI,

I am writting an event handler for a list and here is my code:

SPSite newSite = new SPSite(SPContext.Current.Site.url);

newSite.Dispose();

SPWeb newWeb = newSite.OpenWeb();

newWeb.Dispose();

SPWebCollection subSites = newWeb.Webs;

SPWeb newSubWeb = subSites.Add(SiteTitle,SiteTitle,Description....)

The aboe code for some reason is not working. However when I harcode the url rather than trying to get the current url using SPContext it works!!!

Can you please tell me what I am doing wrong?
